In breve
South African, living in the Netherlands. Started in IT support in 2013 with no degree and worked up to Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer at a Dutch insurer - security, compliance, disaster recovery. Nobody handed me a shortcut, and it left me wanting to understand a system all the way down rather than trust that someone else got it right. It's why I build infrastructure, and why I read the regulation instead of the summary. Weekends are usually a European city I haven't seen yet.
